Glenbrook Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1983 to answer the needs of the electronics industry for real-time X-ray inspection systems designed to accurately inspect electronic devices. Since 1993 Glenbrook has manufactured X-ray systems to inspect medical devices such as catheters, pacemakers, shunts, stents, and surgical staples. Glenbrook’s X-ray inspection systems are now used by medical device manufacturers worldwide.

The MXRA incorporates high-sensitivity X-ray imaging capability in a unit small enough to fit on a desktop. The system incorporates Glenbrook's patented X-ray camera technology, which can produce X-ray images using anode voltages as low as 15 kV to reveal voids in plastic moldings that would not be apparent using conventional real-time X-ray techniques. The high-sensitivity images are also of high resolution, revealing defects as small as 0.001 inches.

The MXRA system may be upgraded with image processors, video micrometers and printers.
