KRAIBURG TPE offers innovation and superior support

for medical and pharmaceutical TPE applications

Outstanding features and properties

Both THERMOLAST® M and THERMOLAST® H TPEs are available in various hardness ranges, from VLRH range (very low rubber hardness) to semi rigid Shore D hardness range - depending on application requirements. Moreover, these TPEs have a smooth surface, that enhances the haptic of various applications.

These TPEs do not contain any chemicals such as peroxides (as in TPVs or certain silicones) or phthalates (such as in PVC), leaving no risk of leaching or extractables of any dangerous chemicals.

Furthermore, the TPEs are translucent and natural in colour. The density of the translucent TPEs is < 0.9 g/cc which saves on product weight versus typical PVC and silicones - contributing to material purity, ideal product design and ideal risk management where materials selection for medical and pharmaceutical applications is concerned.

Processibility possibilities

These TPEs also can be moulded or extruded on standard machines. The shrinkage of the chosen product has to be taken into consideration which designing the mould cavity or extrusion die dimensions.

Our medical TPEs can bond with non-polar plastics such as PP or HDPE as well as polar engineering thermoplastics such as ABS, PC, PET and even various types of PA. The bonding usually happens in mould via a two (or multi) component or insert moulding injection moulding process.

KRAIBURG TPE offers its customers support in recommending the right product and the processing parameters as well as tips on mould design of intended product. The TPEs can be coloured via masterbatches or can be made available as a pre-coloured product.

Sustainability is our way ahead

Sustainability is important to KRAIBURG TPE and that’s why KRAIBURG TPE ensures that most of its medical TPEs are recyclable. The THERMOLAST® M series have been tested and certified to be introduced in the PP and HDPE recycling streams without impacting the properties of the recycled thermoplastics. Currently - KRAIBURG TPE is proud to be the only global TPE supplier with this valid EU-wide certification.

Superior support

KRAIBURG TPE can support its customers on the right materials selection based on their requirements, including part design and material processing support..
