The bimonthly publication, “MEDICAL PLASTICS DATA SERVICE”, A Techno-Economic News Magazine For Medical Plastics, Diagnostics And Pharmaceutical Industry is now in the 17th year of publication.

Our Internet Portal Medisourceasia.com , focused on Medical Technology And Markets In Asia , is also servicing information needs of the Medical Device Industry since last more than 9 years.

While creating and maintaining these two information resources for the Indian and Asian Medical Technology Industry , we realized the need for more extensive participation from the Indian as well as Global Medical Device Industry which resulted in the devoted conferences since 2001. The first conference, “Conference on Medical Device Technology : Concept To Commercializing” was organized in Mumbai in Feb. 2001. It was then followed by four subsequent conferences and now, we have this sixth Conference.

Friends, needless to say, this has become possible only by whole hearted and enthusiastic participation from all sub-sectors of the industry mainly the medical product manufacturers and the providers of inputs like raw materials, equipments, technology and a wide range of support services.

I would like to make a special mention here about the immense loss to the Gujarat Medical Device Industry because of the untimely demise of Shri Mahendrabhai who left short time before. Mahendrabhai demonstrated unique leadership quality which alongwith his vision and understanding of the Medical Disposables Industry made it possible for the manufacturers in Gujarat to face the challenges in the past decade. He was responsible for the paradigm shift in the industry. We pray the Almighty for his soul to rest in peace.

The importance and growth potential for the healthcare industry will be discussed at length by learned eminent speakers not only from various parts of the country but also from U.S.A. , China and France during this two day event.

We highly value the knowledge and technology available with each and every company and individual present to-day and I warmly invite you to enjoy and benefit from this "Annual celebration of Knowledge Sharing, Brain Storming and Networking".

Last but not the least, I thank those Companies who chose not only to participate but also share with us their Products and Services by exhibiting them in the "Technology Display Show" in the adjoining lobby. I invite all the participants to benefit by spending whatever time they get in visiting the exhibition of a wide range of products and services displayed by the companies.
