Medical Devices Industry has been growing globally.

through various associations. Some such regions and associations in countries
like Italy, U.K., Israel, Scotland, Belgium and Taiwan are introduced in this

learning is world renown for being innovative and research driven.
Quality proven manufacturing standards have allowed Taiwanese companies to
establish foothold in Medical technology and has around 397 Medical Device
Companies.
Previous CBI programs have demonstrated that hospitals and importers in Europe
do not shy away from medical devices, disposables and equipment manufactured in
developing countries, as long as the quality and reliability are beyond any
doubt. The CBI’s Export Development Programmes for the Medical Devices Industry
have tremendously helped Indian Companies for developing exports resulting in
their fast growth. Thirteen companies from six developing countries presented
themselves at the Medica 2006. The event surpassed all expectations, says CBI
consultant Leendert Santema.
This issue also covers the product profile which describes the innovative
product called ACCUFLOW, the smart infusion systems based on microprocessor
controlled device measures infusion flow rates in terms of drops/minute or ml/hr
and total volume infused. Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship
(CIIE) at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) under their National
Search for Innovation Programme ANVESHAN, awarded a Gold Medal to Kolhapur’s
Sanjeev Gokhale in the year 2004 for his unique infusion flow monitor invention-ACCUFLOW.
Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Limited was identified by CIIE to assist Mr.Sanjeev
Gokhale in perfecting Accuflow, conducting necessary clinical trials &
thereafter marketing the same in India & Across the world. A force like this
will go a long way in indigenizing Indian Medical Device Industry.
