technology industry is The Association of British
Healthcare Industries (ABHI, www.abhi.org.uk ). This
sector comprises not only manufacturers of medical
devices, equipment and consumables, but also service
companies, distributors, professional groups (such as
architects and lawyers), and other suppliers to the
