The Medisize
CLIMATRACH is a HME element (Heat And Moisture Exchanger) for patients with
a tracheotomy, an artificial breathing opening of the tracheal tube. By
breathing through this opening a part of the airway is by-passed, leading to
insufficient heating and moisturising of the inhaled air. The Climatrach is
very capable of capturing heat and moisture of exhaled air and give it back
to the inhaled air, thus reducing significantly heat and moisture loss for
the patient.
The Climatrach is intended
for patients who breathe spontaneous and is used in the hospital and home
care. Because of its size, the Climatrach can be used on adults and
children. Another great advantage of the small design is that it can be worn
inconspicuously, and so attributing to a quick take-up of social life.
The design features of the
types of Climatrach have some great advantages. First of all placement of
the oxygen connection is such that applied oxygen is first warmed and
moisturised before inhalation. Secondly that all inhaled air passes over the
HME element. The integrated valve is a safety feature that allows excess
pressure to be released without destroying the product. It also can act as
an access for a suction catheter; this way the HME can stay in place while
applying suction.
Production of the climatrach
is done in clean rooms. The quality is guaranteed because of the modern
quality system, based on ISO 9001 and EN 46001. The complete production of
the medisize climatrach, from injection moulding to final packaging, takes
place in class 10.000 clean rooms.
Hygrovent S-A and Barr-vent S-A
The new
products are angled versions of the already existing Medisize Barr-vent S
Filter and the Medisize Hygrovent S Filter/HME.
Because of the oblique
connection the Medisize Hygrovent S-A and the Medisize Barr-vent
S-A can be placed and positioned with ease and makes the use of an elbow
connector unnecessary. CO2 measurement is possible via luer lock connection.
Both new products contain a hydrophobic filter, which acts mechanically and
electrostatically. Therefore, an optimal balance is created for resistance,
compressible volume and filtration efficiency.
The Medisize Hygrovent S-A,
a breathing filter with an integrated HME (Heat & Moisture Exchanger),
protects patients against bacterial and viral infections. The HME
effectively warms and moistens the air to be inhaled. The Medisize
Hygrovent S-A is equipped with a blue coloured ring. In practice very
easy to distinguish between the Filter / HME and filter (blue = filter +
HME). This ring also gives a better grip on the product during assembly into
a breathing system.
Then Medisize Barr-vent
S-A is a breathing filter only. It is equipped with a red coloured ring,
indicating the product is a filter only.
